The Trader-In-Residence program gives McMaster students the opportunity to gain an
inside perspective on the business world through experienced professionals such as
Broad, a graduate of DeGroote's MBA program and managing director of the equity
research department at CIBC Wholesale Banking.
Broad transitioned from a background in the arts to studying business, completing his
MBA at McMaster in 1988, and encourages students to remain open to changing career
paths.
“You don't need to have all the answers,” he said. “The foundational skills you develop
remain relevant in different ways.”
Broad was awarded the 2010 Investment Industry Association of Canada Future Leader
Scholarship Award and is a member of McMaster's Board of Governors. He is also a
strong advocate of community involvement and, in particular, giving back to McMaster.
