Friday, Aug. 3 is the first pay date for 700 temporary employees in University Advancement, Student Affairs, Administration, Faculty of Humanities, University Libraries (except Health Sciences) and Health Sciences Human Resources using MacVIP, the new human resources and payroll system. With this conversion, MacVIP is being used to pay more than 3,500 employees.

“A staged release for the remaining employees has proven to be a wise approach because it has allowed us to pilot the new processes, and provide proper support for employees working with the new system,” says Lilian Scime, assistant vice-president, administration. “Because of the incredible commitment, dedication and hard work of everyone involved in this release, this implementation was successful.”

Preparatory work for the implementation of MacVIP for all remaining temporary employees is already underway. This will include about 1,500 staff working at McMaster and affiliates. Their first pay date using MacVIP will be Friday, Aug. 31.

The final conversion will consist of full-time faculty and staff. Currently, the plan calls for a late fall implementation for these employee groups. Keep watching for further updates as we move closer to 100 per cent conversion.
