Instead of receiving the certificates in the mail, students can now access them on MUGSI by clicking on Tax Certificates on the Student Applications menu.

This year, students will not only be able to view their T2202A certificate for the 2007 tax year, but they will also be able to view their 2006 certificate if they need copies.

The University printed and mailed about 33,000 to 38,000 T2202A certificates annually. By eliminating the paper certificates, the University will be able to save hours of manual work throughout several departments.

Reducing paper consumption is an important part of McMaster's sustainability initiative. In addition, the University will save about $30,000 in printing and postage costs.

The switch to online tax certificates was made possible through the collaborative efforts of Business Management Services – Student Accounts, University Technology Services and the Office of the Registrar.
