Sustainability at McMaster

Sustainability requires that natural and human capital resources are used effectively, while being preserved for future generations. It is achieved by developing institutions and promoting behaviours that fully value physical and emotional security, appreciation of diversity, conservation of resources, and community participation for all, today and in the future.

Sustainability at McMaster:

Currently, a team supported by the Office of the Vice-President (Administration), School of Geography, McMaster Students Union and OPIRG is working with students and employees to complete a comprehensive assessment of social, economic, and ecological sustainability at McMaster.

Information about the many indicators can be found at the
MacSUS website. At this time, the team is collecting data for a report to be released in February 2008.

To offer your feedback and to learn more, drop by the MUSC Marketplace with your mug or any re-useable cup for free coffee on Monday, Sept. 17 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Mac Breadbin

Working at McMaster

Also in attendance will be UnionGas, who will be distributing a free Energy Saving Kit valued at $35 to staff who reside in
the Hamilton area. Your must provide your name, home address and phone
number at the event (for tracking purposes only) in order to get one of these free kits.
