As technology has changed dramatically since the previous contract was awarded in 1999, our hope is to make a significant step towards better, more efficient communication across campus.

As we explore the possibilities available to us, it's important that we gather as much information as possible. And one of the most important sources of this information is from those who use the equipment: you.

Please take a moment to complete the survey and give us your input as to what features and conveniences are important to you. While you are there, take the opportunity to enter your name for our Titles Bookstore gift certificate draw.

In today's climate, it is almost standard practice that we focus on environmental communication strategies that result in a reduction of print output, reduced costs, increased efficiencies and the management of the disposal of printed material.

In concert with a green theme, this means placing an emphasis on customer service, implementing a streamlined process and providing support from within the McMaster community.

The end result will allow for more effective vendor relationship management, accurate and detailed reporting for business managers across campus and the implementation of best practices.

We also have the benefits of technological advances to consider. With the new agreement comes an opportunity to introduce technologies that can only enhance the way we communicate.

Technological enhancements, new since we last upgraded our equipment, now provide options for complementary equipment and software solutions that fit diverse needs across campus.

Areas that have individual pieces of equipment to scan, fax and copy will be able to do everything on a multi-functional device. And we will all have the chance to strategically align with other venues on campus, including the libraries and labs.

We look forward to receiving your survey feedback. And as the process moves toward the RFP and beyond, we plan a number of forums across campus and will update you here on our progress. For more information about this initiative, please click here
