Summa exhibition: Showcase of new art by emerging artists
The McMaster Museum of Art presents the annual Summa exhibition featuring work by graduating students of the Studio Art program. Alternating Currents, the title of the exhibition, refers to the energetic, ongoing dialogue and support between these 21 distinctive, emerging artists. The exhibit runs from April 16 to May 21.
This year's exhibition includes artwork in a wide range of media including painting, sculpture, metal and glass work, narrative quilting, performance and new technologies. The ideas and inspiration for this work spring from a wide variety of sources including personal experience, art history, literature and the direct involvement of other classmates.
A reception for the exhibition will be held on April 16 at 2 p.m. and the participating students will give a Lunchtime Talk about their work on April 18 at 12:30 p.m.
