Who would you meet? McMaster students had the opportunity to transform their imagination into reality by participating in Job Shadow Week hosted by Career Services.

Job Shadow Week is an annual event that provides students with on-site exposure to work environments that includes observation and interviewing of professionals working in careers related to their fields of interest.

More than 100 job shadow opportunities were available to students during the week of Nov. 5 to 9. The event takes place during Canada Career Week, a program that many McMaster students would be familiar with from their high school days.

Job Shadow Week provides McMaster students with an opportunity to look up close at the world of work. It is an academically inspiring activity that helps students make connections to how the skills they are acquiring through their programs of study are linked to the workplace, says Angela Fortino, employer relations officer with Career Services.

Students interested in exploring career moves, clarifying work interests and discovering what's out there are encouraged to check out the careerLINKS program. Job Shadow Week is one of many events co-ordinated through the careerLINKS program.
