The last week of the Honours Performance Series features a play that treats audiences to a non-traditional theatrical experience.

COGS is a production that puts its audience into the world of the play. Spectators can freely explore the imaginative and dreamlike spaces around them. The highly interactive nature of the show guarantees an individualized experience for every audience member.

The performance is technologically innovative. All audio in the show is fed through headsets.

COGS is also the first time that an Honours Performance Series production will take place in downtown Hamilton.

“It has been extremely exciting for us to bring awareness to the amazing things that the McMaster Theatre & Film program can produce to the greater Hamilton community,” said Emily Gallomazzei, one of the co-creators of COGS. “We are proud to be part of the flourishing arts and culture communities in the city.”

COGS explores how a person’s sense of self can be defined by the presence of others. The show asks audiences to reflect on the relationships in their lives that have helped construct their own identities.

COGS will be presented at 118 James Street North. The public can attend the performance from March 27 – March 29 at 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. each day. Audiences must reserve tickets at cogshps@gmail.com.

Two other Honours Performance Series plays will occur this week on the McMaster campus at the Robinson Memorial Theatre (Chester New Hall room 103).

Unidentified: [insert culture here] is a comedy that examines cultural interactions in a multicultural society. The show is scheduled for March 27 at 12:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. and March 28 at 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.

The Bell Ringer is a modern adaptation of The Hunchback of Notre-Dame. The play dissects ideologies surrounding disability and male body image.  Audiences can see The Bell Ringer on March 27 at 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. and March 28 at 12:30 p.m. and 9 p.m.
