Getting her start at the age of 15 in the CBC-TV production of The Magic Flute, Fallis has performed in numerous oratorios, choral works, and operatic roles.
She has appeared at the Covent Garden International Festival, the Wexford Opera Festival, and two seasons of the Edinburgh International Festival.
A writer and comedian as well as a singer, Fallis has created five one-woman shows, including Primadonna, The Mrs. Bach Show, and Ms. Mozart. She has performed these shows across Canada and the U.S. In 1996, she received the Toronto Arts and Letters Club Award in recognition of her service on arts committees.
Fallis will be accompanied by pianist, composer, and conductor Tiefenbach. Formerly the host of the CBC programs The Arts Tonight and Radio Concert Hall, Tiefenbach is currently a faculty member of the Glenn Gould Professional School at the Royal Conservatory of Music. His works have been commissioned and premiered by several performers and ensembles, including the Chorus Niagara.
McMaster University's Convocation Hall is once again the setting for the star-studded Celebrity Concert Series, a Hamilton tradition since 1972.
This year's series of eight concerts feature unforgettable music for every taste.
All performances in the Celebrity Concert Series start at 8 p.m. on Friday evenings in Convocation Hall (University Hall, Room 213).
Tickets are $17 general admission, $12 for seniors and $5 for students. Subscribers enjoy substantial savings.
The Celebrity Concert Series is presented by the McMaster University School of the Arts, which also presents a nine-concert Free Lunchtime Concert Series on Tuesdays at 12:30 p.m., and some 10 Ensemble Concerts annually by the McMaster Chamber Orchestra, McMaster Concert Band, McMaster University Choir and McMaster University Jazz Band.
