Shuttle bus to make healthy pit stop Friday

Those who take the shuttle bus on campus will get off at a Healthy Pit Stop on Friday morning.
Displays, refreshments and information booths targeting healthy and active living will be set up near the current shuttle stop at Mary Keyes Circle from 7:30 to 9 a.m. on Oct. 21.
There will be four booths, featuring the Alternative Commuting and Transportation Office, Crime Prevention Office, Healthy Workplace and Student Health and Wellness Centre. The event also will outline where savings from the shuttle bus are directed and will present an overview of healthy workplace initiatives taking place Oct. 24-28.
Refreshments will include free coffee, water, juice, hot chocolate and snacks. There also will be draw prizes for $100, $50 and $25 gift certificates to the Runner's Den. The winners will be announced on the Daily News, the Parking and Transit Services website and the Security Services website.
The Healthy Pit Stop is intended to thank shuttle bus commuters and also act as a prelude to Healthy Workplace Week, says Terry Sullivan, director of Security and Parking Services. “We want to recognize those who take the shuttle bus,” he says.
