Second season of Alumni Podcast Unconventional shares more stories of inspiring career journeys 

Sometimes when we think we have it all planned out, we suddenly realize that the unexpected can lead to fantastic and life-changing opportunities. It’s these kinds of stories that we celebrate in the MacCast: Unconventional podcast series.

“We had such great feedback from Season One, that we knew we had to produce a second season,” said Karen McQuigge, Director of Alumni Engagement. “Fortunately, there are so many alumni who have unique and compelling stories about where they started, where they are now, and the journey in between.”

Featuring more than half a dozen stories, we set out to highlight how McMaster graduates paved their way into the world, and found themselves in their current positions.

“Career journeys rarely follow a direct path from point A to point B,” says McQuigge. “We hope that new grads and current students can learn, directly from other graduates, that taking a risk, following your dreams, or following up on an unexpected opportunity can lead to amazing success.”

This season will feature stories about moving from Life Sciences to PR in the beauty industry, how sociology influenced a successful career building and supplying custom food carts and trucks, turning a social sciences degree into an influential writing career and many more!
