Search committees begin work

A number of search committees are beginning their work as the terms of several
McMaster leadership roles approach the end of their five-year terms.
The terms of the provost, vice-president research, dean of Social Sciences, dean of
Humanities, dean of Business and associate vice-president Student Affairs all conclude
in June 2012.
“It is our practice to review the roles of academic leaders as their five-year terms come
to conclusion,” says President Patrick Deane. “This year, the terms of several positions
happen to be ending at the same time. We are fortunate that McMaster has had a long
tradition of strong and successful academic leaders and know that the search
committees will be diligent in seeking input from the campus community as they
proceed with their work.”
The

of the committees to Senate for approval. Each is composed of representatives from
various campus stakeholders including faculty, students and staff.
