Students in the Faculty of Science will be conferred degrees today in two ceremonies being held in downtown Hamilton.

The convocations, scheduled for 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. in the Great Hall at Hamilton Place, will also see honorary degrees confererred upon Dr. Anthony Pawson, Samuel Lunenfeld Research Institute at Mount Sinai Hospital, Henry Schwarcz, professor emeritus at McMaster University, Francesco Bellini, chairman of board and CEO of Bellus Health, and Dr. Jules Carbotte, professor at McMaster University. All will receive a Doctor of Letters.

Approximately 4,600 students will receive degrees from McMaster this spring. Honorary degree recipients are recognized for their contributions in such areas as public service, education and scholarship, creative and performing arts, and for their work within the McMaster community.
