Speakers include Barrie Shepley of Personal Best Health & Performance, Doug Heintz of the Transportation Health & Safety Association of Ontario, Connie Tountas from Threads of Life and members of McMaster's Environmental and Occupational Health Support Services.
The theme of the event — Health and Safety: A Commitment for Life. Start Today! — carries through information sessions on due diligence, environmental awareness and an introduction to Workwell, a health and safety audit by the Workplace Health and Safety Board that McMaster will undergo in 2008.
As part of the celebration, McMaster's Environmental Occupational Health Support Services has also arranged a BBQ for all McMaster staff on May 10, outside Wentworth House, where there will be vendors with the latest in ergonomic workstations, personal protective equipment and training services. A highlight of the BBQ is the presentation of the Health and Safety Award of Excellence at 12:15 p.m. There will also be draws for a bicycle, TV and other great prizes.
