“This lounge looks absolutely wonderful,” said Susan Elliott, dean of social sciences, at the grand opening of the lounge this week. “This is a great place for employees to hang out.”

Approximately 40 employees attended the opening of the lounge, located in B109. The area has been refurbished with new flooring, paint, artwork, reclining chairs, a computer workstation, a phone, and kitchen necessities such as a microwave oven and refrigerator. It is the eleventh employee lounge to be constructed or refurbished since the summer of 2001, when an Employee Lounges Steering Committee was formed.

“Every time I come to the opening of a lounge it is such a great celebration,” added Karen Belaire, vice-president administration.

All employee lounges are available to employees in any building with the use of a photo ID card.
