UPDATE: Rapid test kits available for students to pick up today

To support the wellbeing of McMaster students, rapid antigen tests were distributed yesterday on a first-come, first-served basis at the Peter George Centre for Living and Learning (PGCLL) Service Desk. There are still test kits available today (Friday, February 18) from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. or until supplies run out.

Students should be prepared to show their McMaster student ID card when picking up a test. The PGCLL Service Desk is located on the main floor, near the residence elevators. We encourage those attending to enter from the west side doors across from the Commons Building and to exit through the east doors closest to the Ron Joyce stadium.

Kits of two tests will be distributed in support of students as they prepare to return to their home communities for mid-term recess. Students are encouraged to take a rapid test before returning home and then again before returning to in-person classes. Positive screen results should be reported through Mosaic and treated as an indicator of COVID-19 and students should immediately self-isolate as per the provincial guidelines.

The Province of Ontario is expanding access to free rapid tests, with 5.5 million rapid tests to be distributed each week for eight weeks through pharmacies, grocery stores, and community partners in vulnerable communities. Find more details here.

This page will be updated if supplies run out before the desk closes at 8 p.m.
