Rapid tests available to McMaster community ahead of reading week

To support the well-being of the McMaster community, COVID-19 rapid antigen test kits will be distributed ahead of the fall Reading Week.

Test kits (each containing five individual tests) will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis near the Starbucks in the McMaster University Student Centre (MUSC) on Wednesday, October 5th from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., or until supplies last.

The test kits are available to McMaster students, faculty and staff, with a limit of one per person.

The Province of Ontario continues to distribute rapid antigen tests through participating pharmacy and grocery locations across the province. Learn more here.

If you feel unwell or are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms, please do not attend campus and use the Ontario COVID-19 self-assessment tool. It provides direction on the next steps if an individual has been exposed to COVID-19 or is experiencing symptoms.

If employees test positive for COVID-19 on a rapid antigen test or a PCR test and have attended a McMaster location in the past 14 days, complete the COVID-19 Positive Case Reporting Tool in Mosaic.

Students are no longer required to report cases, but learners in health professional programs should check with their program offices for instructions on reporting to placement locations.

COVID-19 reporting protocols for faculty and staff can be found here.
