McMaster University Provost Ilene Busch-Vishniac delivered the annual State of the
Academy address on Tuesday, September 21, at the Michael G. DeGroote Centre for
Learning and Discovery.

Covering topics such as student and faculty numbers, research funding and the budget,
the address is designed to educate the McMaster community about the University's past,
present and future.

“The previous year had its challenges but the University made considerable progress in a number of areas,” said Busch-Vishniac. “A sustained effort continues to be required to ensure we meet our objectives”.

President Patrick Deane provided an introductory overview of McMaster's strengths and opportunities in an ever-changing post-secondary sector in Ontario.

The State of the Academy address and report can be found on the Provost's href=”http://www.mcmaster.ca/vpacademic/index.html”>website.
