Provost David Wilkinson has been recognized by his alma mater for his contributions to the field of engineering and his impact on society.

Wilkinson was inducted into the University of Toronto Engineering Alumni Association’s Hall of Distinction at a ceremony earlier this month.

Held annually, the awards banquet recognizes University of Toronto engineering alumni who have made significant contributions and impact in their profession and/or communities.

As a materials engineer, Wilkinson is regarded as a pioneer for his work on the deformation and fracture characteristics of ceramic composites and alloys.

He has authored more than 200 scientific publications.
