Members of the community are organizing the first Proud Hamilton Hunt, an urban adventure where teams of two solve clues about the city, photograph themselves together at the clue location, and reach the finish line to qualify for prizes provided by Hamilton businesses. The event has one goal: provide a fun way for Hamiltonians to learn about their city.

“This is an opportunity for people to show their pride for Hamilton in a fun and competitive way,” said Mark Stewart, Proud Hamilton Hunt event spokesperson. “There is something for everyone.”

Proceeds from the event will go to the Art Gallery of Hamilton's Art Without Barriers Summer Camp, a program that allows children from high-needs neighbourhoods to experience a week of art-making with artist-educators.

The event is scheduled for noon on Saturday, July 24, with registration taking place at 11 a.m. Tickets for a team of two can be purchased here for $20. Further information can be found at the Proud Hamilton website.

The Proud Hamilton campaign is an initiative of the Jobs Prosperity Collaborative, a group of community leaders and organizations including McMaster University, who are committed to promoting Hamilton's prosperity through job creation and retention.
