Posted on Sept. 29: Marauders shut out Ottawa Gee Gees

McMaster Marauders defeated the University of Ottawa Gee Gees Saturday 31-0. It was the fifth straight win of the season for the third-ranked football team.

The Marauders will face The University of Western Ontario Mustangs (3-2) Saturday, Oct. 4, as a part of the McMaster Homecoming celebrations.

In Ottawa, fifth-year running back, Kyle Pyear rushed for 160 yards to establish a McMaster career rushing record with 2616 career yards.

Pyear, a native of Belleville, Ontario surpassed McMaster running back
Ross Tripp (2588) who played for McMaster in 1973-76 and with The University of Western Mustangs in 1977. Pyear is currently the sixth
leading career rusher in OUA history.

Pyear lead the CIS in Rushing in 2002 with 1,227 yards earning him
a first team all-Canadian award. Pyear is currently fourth in
rushing in the OUA with 426 yards on 59 carries. He has also caught
seven passes for 118 yards and scored six touchdowns.
