posted on Nov. 9: Student services ancillary fee increase approved in vote

The student services ancillary fee will increase 70 cents per unit beginning 2002-03 after being approved in a referendum held earlier this week.

The current fee per unit is $2.76 and will increase to $3.46 per unit.

There were 1455 votes cast with 1143 in favour of the fee increase. Ouorum for the student services ancillary fee referendum was set at 10 per cent of the total registered undergraduates taking 18 units or more (1309).

Ballots cast in the proposed Science Society fee increase referendum were not counted as quorum was not reached. Quorum was set at 10 per cent (252) of the total registered Faculty of Science undergraduates taking 18 units or more. A total of 149 ballots were cast in this referendum.
