On Tuesday, May 25, the McMaster cross country program will host the Marauder Invitational 5,000 meter track race as part of the
2004 Hamilton Summer Twilight Distance Series.

The quality of the athletes who will be traveling to Hamilton from as far away as Newfoundland and Michigan bodes well for what should be the fastest Canadian 5,000m event east of Victoria this year.

Race organizers anticipate that as many as eight Canadians could qualify for the Canadian Olympic Trials (July 9-11, 2004 in Victoria, BC.) by achieving the Athletics Canada Qualifying standard of 14 minutes and 27 seconds.
