The following is a message to students from Student Financial Aid & Scholarships:

If you recently received a letter from the NATIONAL STUDENT LOANS SERVICE CENTRE, please read the following:

1. If you negotiated your first-ever Canada Student loan on or after
March 1, 2001, no action is currently required.

2. If you negotiated your first-ever Canada Student loan between August 1, 2000 and February 28, 2001, your loan has been transferred to the
NSLSC. It is no longer at your bank. No action is currently required.

3. If you have one or more Canada Student loans which were negotiated at the bank of your choice prior to August 1, 2000, and you did not negotiate your Canada Student loan for the current study period until March 1, 2001 or later, you must provide Copy 22A (the blue copy) of these new loan documents or a Schedule 2 to the bank holding your previous loans in order to confirm your full-time student status.

4. If you have one or more Canada Students loans which were negotiated
between August 1, 2000 and February 28, 2001 your loans have been
transferred to the NSLSC. It is no longer at your bank. No further action is currently required.

Important:

Each time you negotiate a new Canada Student Loan (e.g. Summer 2001 or Fall 2001), be sure to send copy 22A of your loan to the bank holding your previous Canada Student Loan(s) to maintain your full-time student status.

Anytime that you do not negotiate a new Canada Student loan during a study period which is mandatory for your program (e.g. Fall 2001),be sure to complete a Schedule 2 for the NSLSC and/or your bank to maintain your full-time student status.

As of March 1, 2001 all new Canada Student Loan documents must be taken to an authorized postal outlet for processing. Student Financial Aid & Scholarships will direct you when you pick up your documents.

Remember to hold on to your letter as it contains important account
number, consolidation and repayment information.
