The McMaster Students Union is continuing its tradition of rewarding some of the most outstanding members of the McMaster community for their various contributions. Nominations opened on Sunday, Feb. 11. Deadlines for submissions appear below.

A description of each award follows:

Rudy Heinzl Award of Excellence


The Rudy Heinzl Award of Excellence recognizes an outstanding one-year achievement that improves the lives of McMaster students.

Any member of the McMaster community (e.g. graduate and undergraduate students, staff, faculty and alumni) is eligible to receive this award.

Forms are available from the MSU main office (HH-406), the Info-Centre, the McMaster Association of Part-time Students office (KTH-120) or online at www.msu.mcmaster.ca/awards. Nominations are due by 5 p.m. Friday, March 9.

Honour M Award

Membership in the Honour Society has, since 1932, been given to a select group of students in recognition of their outstanding leadership, volunteer service, special achievement or valuable contribution within the McMaster or Hamilton communities.

This recognition, in the form of the Honour M, is the highest award that the McMaster Students Union can bestow on one of its members. Any full-time student is eligible for this award.

Forms are available in Hamilton Hall 406, the Info Centre and online at www.msu.mcmaster.ca/awards. Nominations are due by 5 p.m. on Friday, March 2.

$500 MSU Merit Scholarships (NEW!)

The $500 MSU Merit Scholarships recognize valuable contributions to the McMaster community. These awards go to students who have had a positive effect on campus through leadership, athletics, volunteer work, clubs participation or anything else.

If you are a full-time student who is not graduating this year, you are eligible to win one of these scholarships.

Forms are available in Room 406, Hamilton Hall, the Info Centre and online at www.msu.mcmaster.ca/awards. Nominations are due by 5 p.m. Friday, March 9.
