Dressed in their “Sunday best,” children and grandchildren of University employees were treated to an afternoon of games, crafts, clowns, singsongs, gifts, treats and a visit from Santa. Featured performers included national recording artist and songwriter Jim Witter and the McMaster University Vocal Ensemble.

The event opened with remarks from University President Peter George, whose office this year provided $5,000 for the event. Also supporting the party were: Karen Belaire, vice-president administration, Peter Sutherland, acting provost and vice-president academic, Hospitality Services, Physical Plant, Grand & Toy, Media Production Services, Titles Bookstore, Athletics & Recreation, Steve McKay State Farm Insurance and Cadbury Trebor Allan Inc.

The event was also supported by many McMaster employees who, in the words of organizers, gave freely of their creativity and time.
