The Joint Job Evaluation Steering Committee (JJESC), established by McMaster University and the McMaster University Staff Association (MUSA), has been working on the development of a new job evaluation tool for positions in the MUSA bargaining unit. The implementation of the new system is scheduled for June 16, 2005.

The pilot test phase is nearing completion. Following a feedback session with pilot test participants, the JJESC reviewed and refined the Job Content Questionnaire (JCQ) and related processes of the new job evaluation system. The JJESC expects the final version of the JCQ and related evaluation tools and processes to be approved by the University and MUSA in April.

The process of selecting the members of the Job Rating Committee (JRC) is continuing. Final selections are currently being made and will be posted when finalized.

Orientation sessions to familiarize the McMaster community with the new plan and process will be provided in the next few weeks. The sessions will also provide information about how to complete the Job Content Questionnaires (JCQs).
