In February 2004, McMaster's Office of Public Relations launched Picture McMaster
(www.picturemcmaster.ca), a new
online photo gallery of the people, places, and things that make up the University.
Since its launch, Picture McMaster has been an overwhelming success. Over 900
people have applied for user accounts, the archives currently contain more than
400 images, and the gallery continues to grow.

To raise awareness of Picture McMaster and promote the University's beautiful
campus, McMaster faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community members are
invited to participate in a Campus Colours fall photo contest. Contestants are
encouraged to “picture McMaster” in unique, innovative, and colourful
ways.

Says contest organizer Julia Thomson, We want participants to illustrate
how McMaster is a campus of many colours.' From the diversity of
our student body to the beauty of the University grounds, there are many ways
photographers can interpret the contest's theme of campus colours.'

A panel of judges made up of representatives from the School of the Arts, the
Silhouette, and the Hamilton Spectator will determine the
winning entries. Gift certificates donated by Titles Bookstore will be awarded
to the top photographers.

Electronic entries can be submitted online at www.mcmaster.ca/ua/opr/picturemcmaster/entryform.cfm.
The contest will launch September 23 and conclude October 15. Winning entries
will be displayed on the Picture McMaster Web site and on the Daily News. Click
