Photographers have demonstrated that McMaster is a campus of many colours in the Campus Colours photography contest for Picture McMaster.

The contest, organized by the Office of Public Relations, challenged photographers to “picture McMaster” in unique, innovative, and colourful ways, and people across campus obliged.

Judges Ron Albertson, photo editor, Hamilton Spectator; Robert Hamilton, assistant professor, School of the Arts; and Chris Jaic, photo editor, The Silhouette had the unenviable task of selecting the top images. Explained the judges, “We were looking for technical competence and originality. The images that are in the top 10 are not “snap-shotty.” They show thoughfulness and consideration.”

The top three photographers will receive gift certificates from Titles Bookstore. In first place is Shuang Wang with a view through the windows of the new Michael G. DeGroote Centre for Learning and Discovery. In second is Jane Hsieh with her view of the Biology Greenhouse. And in third is Li Li who took an interesting perspective in a campus classroom. All of the images, descriptions, and photographers have now been entered into the Picture McMaster photo gallery. Visit www.picturemcmaster.ca and search for “campus colours” to find out how people “picture McMaster”.
