Members of the McMaster community, students, retirees, and employees were among the many who attended the President's Awards for Outstanding Service ceremony, held May 13 in Convocation Hall.

Established in 1997 to recognize employees who are neither faculty nor members of senior management for outstanding contributions to advancing the mission of the University, the President's Awards for Outstanding Service represent the highest honour the University can bestow upon its non- teaching employees.

“Each year brings its own measure of successes and challenges to this great institution, and each year I am impressed with how McMaster's staff respond to these challenges with commitment, innovation and plain hard work,” said McMaster President Peter George. “Collectively, we have always risen to the next challenge, the next hill to conquer, the next great work to be done. McMaster's staff has always been, and will always be, indispensable partners in our ongoing movement toward still greater excellence in our work.”

This year's individual award winners are:

  • Meghan Burchell, Anthropology
