It can be difficult to find your way in a highly competitive job market. However, with the help of individuals who have been there and done just that, you can work to build a structured road map to success. McMaster’s new online alumni mentorship platform can help connect you with mentors willing to share their experience and career advice.

The website has an easy sign-up feature that allows individuals to set up a profile using their LinkedIn information or simply sign up as mentees with their student email accounts.

Once signed up, students can select from an abundance of specific career fields in order to find a mentor they feel can help guide them on their path to professional and personal success.

Mentors and mentees can sign up to help with a wide range of things, including mock interviews and resume critiques.

“It allows students and alumni – wherever they are – to connect with eachother,” says Karen McQuigge, director of Alumni Advancement. “That connection could help a student or recent grads take their first steps on a new career path.”

The tool is the result of a partnership between the McMaster Alumni Association, the Student Success Centre and the School of Graduate Studies.
