Well, that's a decision you no longer have to make thanks to a MAC ID service that consolidates passwords for programs like MacConnect, VPN, Web CT and Sophos Antivirus.

MAC ID gives you the ability to manage computer access and reduces the number of passwords needed to access services. It's also a building block for future services.

MAC ID is a unique identifier assigned by University Technology Services. Every person with a MAC ID must complete the quick enhancement process following these instructions.

The process is quick and easy for employees, retirees and alumni. Computer enhancement takes place immediately.

If you are not sure whether or not you have a MAC ID, please call the UTS Service Desk and have your employee number ready. The UTS Service Desk can be reached at uts@mcmaster.ca or ext. 2-HELP (24357).
