“It's an exciting opportunity for Lou,” said provost Ilene Busch-Vishniac. “Unfortunately it means that the University will need to begin a search for a new Registrar. Under Lou's leadership, McMaster has seen outstanding recruitment results and many advances within the diverse areas of the Registrar's Office.”

Ariano joined McMaster in 2004. He leaves the University at the end of February. The provost is working to identify and designate an acting registrar.

“I appreciate the numerous opportunities that McMaster has given me over the past four years,” said Ariano. “In addition to the wonderful Registrar's Office staff, I am particularly grateful to the many people at the University who have helped the Office of the Registrar achieve so many successes. I will always have fond memories of my time, and especially the people, at McMaster.”
