After a comprehensive search process facilitated by Odgers Berndtson, Lenore Lukasik-Foss will be joining McMaster to take up the position of Director, Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Office (SVPRO) & Anti-Oppression Programs (AOP).

Lukasik-Foss has over 20 years of leadership experience working in the Hamilton not-for-profit sector, overseeing programs and services aimed at advancing gender and social justice using an intersectional, anti-racism/anti-oppression, and feminist lens.

“She was Director of the Sexual Assault Centre Hamilton and Area (SACHA) for sixteen years, where she amassed a depth of expertise in gender-based and sexual violence prevention,” said Arig al Shaibah, associate vice-president, Equity and Inclusion. “Lenore has extensive experience in policy development, program design and delivery and community-engagement and will be an important leader within the Equity and Inclusion Office.”

While she was Director of SACHA, Lukasik-Foss was as a member of the President’s Advisory Committee on Building an Inclusive Community Sexual/Gender-Based Violence Subcommittee at McMaster, and she worked with campus and community partners on the pilot project that saw the establishment of the first iteration of the campus sexual violence response function from which the current SVPRO has grown.

She will join McMaster on April 25th.
