New Associate Dean Appointments in the Faculty of Health Sciences

The Executive Committee of the Board of Governors, acting on behalf of the full Board, is pleased to announce the following appointments as recommended by the Senate:

Dr. Susan Denburg, Professor, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences was appointed as Associate Dean (Academic) of Health Sciences for the term July 1, 2000 to June 30, 2005. Denburg holds an MA in Educational Psychology from Cornell University and a PhD from the University of Toronto. She completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Neuropsychology and an Internship in Clinical Psychology at McMaster in preparation for Ontario registration. She was appointed to the rank of Professor in 1995 and has an outstanding academic career in contributions to the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences, the Faculty and the University.

Dr. John Capone, Professor, Department of Biochemistry was appointed as Associate Dean (Research) of Health Sciences for the term September 1, 2000 to June 30, 2005. Dr. Capone obtained his PhD in Biochemistry at McMaster University in 1983. Prior to returning to McMaster as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry in 1986, he was a Medical Research Council Centennial Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Capone was promoted to Full Professor in 1994 and was appointed as Chair of the Department of Biochemistry in 1997.
