Students will have an opportunity to connect with 95 top employers at the fall career fair Thursday.

The Career Fair is free to attend and will take place at the David Braley Athletic Centre (DBAC) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“The fair is an opportunity for students to grow their network, learn about different companies and industries, find out what positions are available and connect with employers on a deeper level,” says Gisela Oliveira, employment services co-ordinator.

Levi Campbell, a recruiter with Stryker Canada, says career fairs and information sessions are an invaluable opportunity for students to get one-on-one time with recruiters and company representatives.

“By learning more about different companies or industries, students can eventually narrow down their choices when it comes to their career searches and goals.”

Industries represented at the Career Fair include technology, retail, manufacturing, engineering, construction and financial services. Attending employers include Hydro One, Imperial Oil, Unilever Canada, Proctor & Gamble, SNC–Lavalin, Microsoft, the Weather Network, Stryker, Target, Winners, the Ontario Public Service and OPP.

Seven employers will also be available to critique students’ resumes. They include SunLife Financial, Conexsys, L3 Wescam, Newton, Sigma Designs, Eaton and Aecon.

The Career Fair usually attracts about 2,000 students. Those interested in participating should dress business casual and bring an updated resume.

Students who wish to take part in a networking event featuring 50 employers from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., can do so for a $10 fee. Tickets for the networking event can be purchased at the Student Success Centre located in Gilmour Hall, Room 110.
