Do you know where the parties stand on the issues that are important to you? What questions do you have for the candidates?

To help you make your selection, the political views of all candidates running in the Ontario provincial election for the riding that includes McMaster University will be heard loud and clear on Monday, Sept. 24 at 6:30 p.m. in Gilmour Hall, Room 111 (Council Chambers).

Candidates hoping to represent the Dundas-Ancaster-Flamborough-Westdale riding — Chris Corrigan from the Ontario Progressive Conservatives, Juanita Maldonado of the New Democratic Party, Ted McMeekin from the Liberal Party of Canada and David Januczkowski of the Green Party of Ontario — will participate in the debate.

Sponsored by the MSU, the debate is one part of MSU vice-president education Arati Sharma's election education program.

“As McMaster students can be members of the Hamilton community for the length of their study here, the MSU believes that voting exercises a civic responsibility,” says Sharma. “We urge students to vote either here in the Dundas-Ancaster-Flamborough-Westdale riding or in their home riding.”

The debate is open to students, staff and faculty.
