Students and alumni volunteering with Mission2Mac will reach out to incoming students
from 13 Canadian cities and Hong Kong this month.

The annual program, run by the McMaster Alumni Association (MAA), will host two hour
sessions from July 18 to 28, with the goal of easing the transition from high school to
university for students and parents.

“We want first-years to know we're coming to their hometowns because they're coming
to ours,” said Karen McQuigge, director of Alumni Advancement.

McMaster representatives will offer tips on first-year essentials such as how to register
for classes, where to dine, how to find inexpensive textbooks, and more. For a complete
list of locations and times, click here.

“The Mission2Mac program has been running for about twenty years, and we always get
a warm reception from families,” said McQuigge. “We visited approximately 1,000
students last year. It's a great way for them to get to know McMaster before they even
get here.”
