The conference runs from Friday, March 2 to Sunday March 4 in the Michael G. DeGroote Centre for Learning and Discovery.

More than 400 delegates from McMaster and the surrounding community attended the Global Citizenship Conference last year, and Stephen Lewis delivered the closing keynote address.

The conference welcomes delegates from all faculties, communities and organizations in order to promote diversity of opinion. The diverse group of delegates will ensure stirring and productive debate of the issues.

This year's topics, which will be presented through keynotes, panels and workshops, include human development, trade, environment, peace, media, gender, human rights, science, health, technology, cross-cultural exchange, globalization, poverty and the Millenium Development Goals (MDG).

The conference begins March 2 with an address by Michael Ignatieff, MP for Etobicoke and author of 15 fiction and non-fiction books.

The event ends Sunday, March 4 with a keynote address by Prince Cedzza Dlamini, a UN spokesperson for the MDG and grandson of Nelson Mandela.

Other keynotes include Nigel Fisher, the president and CEO of UNICEF Canada, and Jennifer Corriero, co-founder and executive director of TakingITGlobal.
