The McMaster community gets an opportunity this Friday to learn more about the City
of Hamilton's proposals for Light Rail Transit. Hamilton's rapid transit team will hold a
campus open house and public information session in the Donaldson Family
Marketplace in MUSC from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Jan. 28.

The City will provide preliminary design and route proposals, share information about
the economic impacts of LRT and will display a video simulation of the proposed B line
route that would run from Eastgate Square to McMaster.

The University supports the LRT project and is working with the City to determine the
most appropriate campus location for an LRT stop.

“As the City progresses with this phase of its preliminary design work and gains a
clearer understanding of how the LRT could operate, McMaster continues to work with
the rapid transit team to determine the most appropriate campus location for a stop,”
said President Patrick Deane.

“The LRT project has the potential to help redefine our city. Once complete, it would be
a catalyst for growth and development. McMaster is pleased to support this initiative
and looks forward to continuing to work with the City to move these plans forward,”
Deane said.
