McMaster VP to co-lead Ontario university COVID-19 committee

Pandemic management and recovery are the focus of a new Council of Ontario Universities (COU) group that will help to advise and assist the provincial government. Karen Mossman, McMaster’s vice-president of research and a world-leading virologist, will co-chair the group of university experts.

“Ontario’s universities have so much talent and infrastructure that can help the government meet the demands that COVID has placed our province,” says Mossman.

“It’s so important that we lend our collective expertise to our government leaders on all aspects of COVID, whether that’s through research or helping to expand testing capacity for Ontarians.”

Mossman will co-chair with Dr. Vivek Goel, special advisor to the president and provost at the University of Toronto.
