Ontario Minister of Transportation, Donna Cansfield, is coming to McMaster today to present the university with the first Corporate Commuter Challenge trophy.

The Minister will congratulate McMaster University, Hamilton Health Sciences and the City of Hamilton on their commitments to providing their staff with active and sustainable commuting options.

The Minister will also present McMaster with the first Corporate Commuter Challenge trophy and visit the new GO terminal under construction at McMaster University.

What? Corporate Commuter Challenge trophy presentation and a tour of active and sustainable transportation facilities offered at McMaster.

Who?

Minister of Transportation Donna Cansfield, Mayor Larry Di Ianni, Murray Martin, President and CEO of Hamilton Health Sciences and Roger Trull, Vice President of McMaster University.

Where?

McMaster University, Mary Keyes Residence lobby (west side of campus).

When?

Friday, Oct. 20 at 2 p.m.

Why?

Because building more roads and parking lots to deal with congestion and the growing number of vehicles on our roads is an unsustainable and expensive solution to our transportation problems.

More businesses need to be encouraged to support active and sustainable transportation as an inexpensive and effective solution that also has a health and environmental benefit. Lets congratulate those already on the path to sustainability.
