McMaster solar car project recognized for technological innovation

The Foundation, founded in 1998, works to advance technological education and skills training in order to resolve the skilled labour shortages facing Canadian industries.

The solar car team, made up of 180 students from each of McMaster's six faculties, will receive $5,000 in recognition of their innovative program that advances technological education and skills training. The award, which recognizes progress towards sustainable development at the college or university level, is sponsored by Shell Canada Ltd.

The team will receive the award at the Yves Landry Foundation's 5th Annual STARS Technological Education Awards Gala on Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004.
