The two organizations will initially work together on a case-by-case basis, moving towards a broader and more detailed memorandum of understanding.
The association between MRAL and PwC was formed to address the growing interest of organizations in India to apply RFID technology. RFID technology is already being used in India for such purposes as bus scheduling, mail delivery, medical diagnosis and banking.
MRAL will provide RFID technology leadership in activities such as RFID technology assessment, vendor assessments for RFID hardware, service level agreements from an RFID hardware perspective, and privacy and policy issues involved with RFID frequency usage.
PwC will provide leadership from a systems perspective, including technology assessment for RFID solutions, vendor assessments for systems hardware, service level agreements and sales activities.
MRAL provides a hub for applications-oriented RFID research and development between academia, multiple industries and the public sector, promoting investigation in technology, social policy, commercialization and business process.
