This year's campaign raised $170,312, exceeding last year's target by almost $10,000.
Paul Chapin, chair of the United Way Board says, “We are absolutely thrilled with the results of this year's campaign. The generosity of the people of Burlington and Hamilton in support of their community has been demonstrated one more time. Everyone associated with the Campaign should feel very proud of what they have achieved in support of the people of our two great cities.”
This year, McMaster was awarded the Workplace Leadership Giving Award for Hamilton. This award recognizes the organizations and individuals that went above and beyond in their employee campaigns.
“Your efforts and focus on leadership giving have resulted in a number of new donations and increases in existing donors,” says Janyce Robinson, McMaster's United Way representative. “The leadership provided during the campaign would not have been possible at all without you.”
On behalf of the McMaster United Way Campaign Committee, co-chairs Lisa Boniface and Louis Schmidt wish to extend their thanks to all members of the McMaster community who supported this year's campaign.
Boniface says, “We extend our sincere thanks to the entire McMaster community of students, staff, faculty and retirees. Your contributions made the campaign a success.”
Added Schmidt, “We also wish to acknowledge the organizers and supporters of several fundraising projects that dedicated proceeds to the United Way campaign: the paper mitten sale, Inter-Residence Council stair walk, the DeGroote School of Business bake sale, pictures with Santa done by Media Production Services and the McMaster United Way Run/Walk. All of these events make a significant contribution to a worthy cause, and we appreciate the time and effort to make them happen.”
