McMaster professor to hold national nursing chair

[img_inline align=”left” src=”http://padnws01.mcmaster.ca/images/DiCenso.jpg” caption=”A. DiCenso”]McMaster nursing professor Alba DiCenso is among 11 new chair holders announced today by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and the Canadian Health Services Research Foundation.

The organizations are investing $20 million to support the establishment of 12 chairs in health services and nursing research. The chairs will focus on the training and mentoring of new health services and nursing researchers.

The chairs will be key building blocks linking academics, students, and health decision makers in a national network which will include regional training centres.

DiCenso, who is conducting research on the evaluation of nurse practitioner roles and intervention, will chair the management of nursing services.
