McMaster hosts CANHEIT in search of innovations in higher education technology

Canada's community of information and communications technology (ICT) leaders in
higher education, CUCCIO-CDPIUC, is partnering with McMaster University to deliver the
9th annual CANHEIT conference this Sunday, June 5 to Wednesday, June 8. Taking place
at the Michael DeGroote Centre for Learning, the theme of CANHEIT 2011 is “exploring
the nature of technology”.
CANHEIT is the only conference of its kind in Canada. As a forum for discussion of ICT
and its role in higher education, attendees of the conference will help to plan and
implement ICT for the benefit of students, instructors, researchers and administrators.
The Canadian University Council of Chief Information Officers (CUCCIO-CDPIUC)
supports and facilitates Canada's research, innovation and learning agenda through
CANHEIT
“ICT has become essential to the success of our post-secondary institutions as centres
of education, research and innovation. Through events such as CANHEIT, CUCCIO-
CDPIUC fosters communication and collaboration amongst Canada's higher education
ICT community allowing us all to better meet this challenge. We are pleased to be
partnering with McMaster University to deliver CANHEIT 2011,” said Bob Gagne,
President of CUCCIO-CDPIUC.
“McMaster University was selected as the site for CANHEIT because of its cutting-edge
facilities, technologies and problem-based education,” said John Kearney, Chairperson
of CANHEIT 2011 and CIO at McMaster University.
