The festivities will include the 25th anniversary celebration of the Alumni Gallery with the induction of seven new members as well as the McMaster Alumni Association Awards Ceremony.

The weekend will kick off on Saturday morning, as President Peter George hosts the President's Luncheon beginning at 11 a.m. The luncheon will coincide with Coffee Table Book campus tours running from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and the Half Century Club Luncheon that will take place between 12 and 2 p.m.

“We're looking forward to a wonderful Alumni Weekend,” says Karen McQuigge, director of the McMaster Alumni Association. “It's always a special pleasure to welcome McMaster graduates back to campus, to celebrate the accomplishments of the newest members of the Alumni Gallery, and to thank all of the volunteers who work on behalf of the McMaster Alumni Association throughout the year.”

Also on Saturday, the Alumni Association will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Alumni Gallery by inducting seven new members. The ceremony starts at 3 p.m.

“It's exciting to be celebrating the 25th year of the Alumni Gallery with seven new inductees,” says McQuigge. “Their accomplishments are a very positive reflection of the quality of person McMaster produces, and a tremendous influence to all alumni and students alike.”

The Alumni Association will also show appreciation for its members and volunteers over the past year in an awards ceremony on Saturday that McQuigge says will be a “grand occasion.” The President's Dessert Party at 4 p.m. will wrap up an eventful Saturday.

“We will also be thanking our chancellor and co-chancellor for all of their wonderful work on behalf of the University and the Alumni Association,” says McQuigge. “Dr. Mel Hawkrigg '52 and his lovely wife Marilyn Hon. '00 have been excellent ambassadors for us over these past nine years and our volunteers will be thanking them for their support over the weekend. Dr. Hawkrigg will be celebrating his 55th anniversary of graduation from McMaster on this special weekend in addition to his last Alumni Weekend as chancellor.”

The weekend's events will conclude on Sunday at 1 p.m. with an Annual General Meeting of the McMaster Alumni Association.
