Mission to Mac is an annual series of orientation events designed to help incoming first-year students with the transition from high school to university.

“The program is a great opportunity for incoming students to hear what it is really like to be a student here at Mac,” said Brennan Reurink, a McMaster student and co-coordinator of the program. “It's one thing to hear a professor tell you what to expect, but having someone who is currently in the same position as the students will be in September is so much easier to relate to.”

There will be 16 missions across Ontario and one in Vancouver. Mission to Mac will provide valuable information and insight about what students can expect when they arrive at McMaster in September, as well as helpful tips to overcome potential first-year stresses of university life.

“The resources and information provided by the program are invaluable to incoming students,” added Dane Poorter, who is also co-coordinating the program. “We are really excited to give students the opportunity to ask questions that they otherwise may not get answered.”

Each mission will consist of several student speakers, a fun informational video and a question/answer period to address any concerns that future students and their parents may have.

Students, parents, friends and family are all welcome to attend. Event dates, locations and registration information are available at www.mission2mac.ca.
