Although they didn't return with the Ruttan Cup as team Champions there was a lot to celebrate. Jason Wellings shot an even par 72 on the final day to secure the Len Shore Trophy as the OUA Individual Champion. As a team, the Marauders overcame a poor first round to take silver.

In the women's competition, Jamie Wilson continued the McMaster tradition of having a lone women represent McMaster in competition following the footsteps of two-time Ontario champion Katie McIntyre.

Playing just her second competitive OUA round, Wilson struggled with her putter a bit and posted a nice even first-day 100, which placed her not that far off from the top 10. On the second day of the championship, Wilson continued her trend of improving her scores with each round and posted a tidy seven-shot improvement at 93, reeling in a few more players ahead of her on the leaderboard and finishing 15 shots back of the top 10. Just a first-year student, Wilson will back next season and is expected to challenge to move into the top flight of the OUA field.

The Marauder men teed it up on their first day at Sunningdale thinking only of winning against an OUA-record 12 team men's field. After the first tee shot of the day, however, things went bad in a hurry. On a course where the team was looking to post single-day totals well under 300, the Marauders stumbled to a 313 day-one total, leaving the team lurking at the back of the field, ahead of only Brock and Wilfrid Laurier and a staggering 19 shots off the lead captured by the University of Waterloo with a brilliant 294, counting two 73's and two 74's. Those 73's were the low scores of the day on the individual side of the competition.
